Twitter, technically, no longer exists. Musk has merged Twitter Inc with a new company called X Corp, which he's talked about in the past as an "everything app" like WeChat in China where "users can send payments, shop, and message each other all on one platform" all, turning Twitter into a US$250b mega-corp. I don't doubt Musk will try to do this, but I doubt it'll be any good. The merger also moves Twitter from the US state of Delaware, with a court system that seem to not like Elon's antics, to Nevada, who have looser regulations and where Musk has way more political sway.
Good news, Elizabeth Holmes is still going to jail for 11 years on April 27th as planned. She was appealing the decision that she defrauded investors regarding Theranos (but not for lying to patients with half arsed blood tests) and wanted to remain on bail while the appeal took place. The judge said that even though she's not a risk to society or absconding, her appeal application was denied because she hasn't found a "substantial question of law or fact" that if found in her favour would reverse the guilty decision. I hope Sam Bankman-Fried is taking notes.
The US Justice Department and the Pentagon are investigating how a bunch of Top Secret documents regarding Russia's invasion of Ukraine (and other things) ended up on Telegram and Twitter. Bellingcat reckons the documents were posted on Discord "after a brief spat with another person on the server about Minecraft Maps and the war in Ukraine, one of the Discord users replied 'here, have some leaked documents' - attaching 10 documents about Ukraine, some of which bore the 'Top Secret' markings". That user says they found them on a different Discord server, dedicated to a Filipino YouTuber named WowMao. Dunno why they were posted there, but L O fucken L.
Make Something Wonderful, an e-book published by the Steve Jobs Archive, is now available to download. I suggest loading the website up on an iPad and reading it there, much nicer than the ePub file. The book is a curated collection of Steve's speeches and emails over his career at Apple, NeXT, Pixar and then Apple again. A decent chunk of it I've never seen before. I found the emails he would send himself as little notes to be particularly interesting. Great photos too. It's by people that loved him and respected him, so it's not going to be a critical take of the dude's life, but absolutely worth a read for any Apple fans out there.
